RUDĂRIA, THE VILLAGE OF THE WATERMILLS

The watermills in Rudăria reproduce arguably the earliest watermills built by the end of the 2nd century B.C. There are only minor changes, such as the iron wheel that replaced lately the wheel carved in wood. Whereas the mills spinning backwards are good for charms, as they can stop or reverse the flow of time, the straight mills grind grain, stories and time, untiringly and incessantly. They mill people’s time and tales, and they never stop.
